The project started with Ragroof Theatre meeting and interviewing local people in day centres, care homes and at tea dances. We reminisced about the dance hall era and local bandstands, as well as people’s interests in partner dancing today. We made bunting together, held tea dances, and our choreographer worked with local dancers who performed in the show. The memories shared during all of these activities have been used to devise the performance, with a cast of professional actors directed by Luan Blake and guest directed by Flick Ferdinando.
